The application portal at mtechadm.iitm.ac.in is now live for IIT Madras M.Tech Admission 2026 . You must complete online registration by April 27, 2026 to be considered for the 2026 intake.
IIT Madras is offering 735 M.Tech seats across 34 programmes , including specialisations in Data Science, AI, Electric Vehicles, Robotics and Semiconductor Materials Technology. COAP registration is mandatory — you cannot view or accept IIT Madras offers without a COAP ID.

IIT Madras M.Tech Admission 2026 — Eligibility & who can apply
If you have a valid GATE score from GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 , you are eligible provided your degree fits the recognised categories (B.Tech/B.E. in Engineering/Technology/Architecture or relevant master’s in Science/Maths). IIT B.Tech graduates with CGPA ≥ 8.0 can apply for direct admission without GATE.
Sponsored candidates need a valid sponsorship from DST/Government/PSU/NIOT/AICTE and minimum 2 years’ work experience in the sponsor organisation. International applicants must hold a recognised 4-year bachelor (or equivalent) and meet English proficiency requirements.

How offers are handled
All offers from IIT Madras for M.Tech 2026 appear on COAP. Register on COAP to view and accept offers during the COAP rounds starting in May. Monitor COAP closely; IIT Madras will not share offer acceptance through the institute portal alone.
