JEE Advanced 2026 registration extended to May 5; IIT Roorkee schedules exam on May 17 in dual shifts

IIT Roorkee extended JEE Advanced 2026 registration to May 5. The computer-based exam will be on May 17 in two three-hour shifts. Around 2.5 lakh candidates qualified; admit cards issued May 11–17.

    IIT Roorkee has extended the JEE Advanced 2026 registration last date to May 5, 2026 , the institute said. Candidates who qualified JEE Mains 2026 must complete registration on the official portals to sit for the computer‑based test.

    You can register at jeeadv.ac.in or jeeadv.nic.in using your JEE (Main) 2026 application number and password. Registration will be treated as complete only after successful payment of the application fee.

    IIT Roorkee’s notice reminded candidates to finish payment and not wait till the last minute. Around 2.5 lakh candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced 2026 and are eligible to register.

    Exam schedule and admit card details for JEE Advanced 2026

    The JEE Advanced 2026 exam is scheduled for May 17, 2026 and will be held in dual shifts: 09:00–12:00 (morning) and 14:00–17:00 (afternoon). Each shift lasts three hours.

    Admit cards for registered candidates will be issued between May 11 and May 17, 2026 through the official website. Candidates must download and print their admit card before the exam day.

    Fees and payment rules

    The registration fee differs by category. General category candidates must pay Rs 3,200 . Female candidates and those in SC/ST/PwD categories are charged Rs 1,600 . Registration is not complete until the payment is successful, the institute reiterated.

    Who uses JEE Advanced scores and what programs it leads to

    JEE Advanced is the gateway to undergraduate programmes at the IITs and is also accepted by several other institutes. Scores are used for admission to BTech, integrated masters, dual degree and honours programmes.

    Institutes accepting JEE Advanced marks include the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) and Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy (IIPE).

    Candidates should use the official portals for registration and fee payment. Details on admit card collection, test centres, exact paper pattern and counselling (JoSAA) will be published by the exam authority and participating institutes in separate notices.
