The Uttarakhand government has started an initiative to provide these certificates at the schools themselves in light of the challenges faced by school students in obtaining certificates such as proof of permanent residence, caste, and family income, which are required to participate in competitive examinations.

The 'Apanu School, Apnu Praman' initiative calls for the formation of district-level committees, chaired by the district magistrate and comprising the chief education officer, to oversee the procedure. After teams of land and tax officials and data entry workers visit the schools, the necessary certificates will be given to the class 11 and 12 students.

The committees led by the DMs in each district will determine the number of students in classes 11 and 12, in accordance with the instructions distributed to all DMs. An official roster for the teams of officials and data entry workers visiting schools will be created at the tehsil level by a committee chaired by the deputy collector. By figuring out how long it will take to issue these certificates, a plan of action may be created. The programme will be monitored on a weekly basis at the district level. The CM has mandated that information about the committee rosters be widely disseminated so that the schools are aware of them. Principals, students, parents, and local public authorities will all have access to information about the paperwork required for certificates.
