CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 declared: what students must know

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 on May 13, 2026 , for students who appeared in exams held from Feb 17 to Apr 10, 2026 . More than 18.59 lakh candidates sat the exams across 120 subjects at 7,574 centres.

CBSE reported 10.27 lakh male and 8.32 lakh female candidates among those who appeared. The board used digital On‑Screen Marking ( OSM ) for evaluation this cycle, with scanned answer sheets assessed electronically to speed up and standardise marking.

How to check CBSE Class 12 Result 2026

You can access your provisional marksheet on the CBSE result portals and government apps. Official platforms include results.cbse.nic.in , cbseresults.nic.in , cbse.gov.in , DigiLocker and the UMANG app . CBSE has also listed SMS as an alternate route; the board will announce the official SMS number.

Quick steps for DigiLocker: open the DigiLocker website or app, log in with your registered mobile number or Aadhaar‑linked credentials, go to the Education section, select "CBSE Class 12 Marksheet 2026", and enter your roll number and school code to view and download the provisional marksheet.

Quick steps for UMANG: install and open the UMANG app, set up your profile with your mobile number, search for the CBSE service, choose the Class XII Marksheet/Results option, select the year, and enter your roll number, school number and admit card ID.

For SMS, CBSE usually asks students to send: CBSE 12 roll number. Wait for the board to publish the official number before sending the message.

Immediate student actions and document notes

Keep your roll number, school code and admit card ID handy before checking results. Online marksheets are provisional; original certificates and final marksheets must be collected from your respective school.

If you use DigiLocker, download and save a copy of your digital scorecard for college applications and verification. If you can’t find your roll number or school code, contact your school first — the board’s online portals require these details.

CBSE has not released an overall pass percentage, topper names, state‑wise performance or timelines for issuing original certificates at the time of result declaration.

Students needing re‑evaluation or further help should follow official CBSE notifications for dates and procedures once the board publishes them.
