IIST PG admissions 2026: how to apply and selection stages

Register and submit your application on the official admission portal at iist.ac.in before the June 4 deadline. The application fee must also be paid by June 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM ; the portal handles submission and payment.

Selection follows three clear stages: shortlisting on academic and entrance credentials, interviews, and a merit-based final rank list. Interview schedules will be communicated to shortlisted applicants; after interviews, the final rank list and selection notifications will appear on June 29, 2026 .

Candidates may be called for interviews either on campus or through an online link. If attending in person, bring original academic certificates and a valid photo ID to the interview. Admit card details should be checked and verified before attending.

    Eligibility and immediate student impact

Eligible applicants typically hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with first-class marks and a valid GATE score or equivalent for most programmes. You must upload educational certificates and entrance scores during application and verify programme-specific requirements on the official portal.

The tight schedule means candidates should complete applications early to avoid last-minute issues. Shortlisted candidates should be ready for interviews between mid-June and to arrange travel or online access accordingly.

For programme-specific eligibility, fee structure, reservation rules and seat intake, refer to the official IIST admission notification on iist.ac.in.
