JEECUP 2026: Why dates changed and what students must note
The exam was originally planned for May 15, 2026 but was postponed after multiple candidate requests and an extension of the application deadline, the council said. The revised window runs across eight days and will be held in a single shift each day.
Candidates must download their admit card from the official website and check centre and timing details once the card is issued. Any discrepancies should be reported to the exam authority through the channels listed on jeecup.admissions.nic.in.
JEECUP 2026: Exam pattern, languages and marking scheme
JEECUP 2026 will be a computer-based test (CBT). The question paper will contain 100 MCQs . Questions will be in English and Hindi , and subjects include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The marking scheme awards +4 for each correct answer and deducts 1 mark for each incorrect response . Students should plan answer strategies keeping the negative marking in mind.
Results for the polytechnic entrance test are expected in June or July 2026 , the council said. JEECUP serves as the primary gateway for diploma and polytechnic admissions across Uttar Pradesh.
The official exam website, jeecup.admissions.nic.in, carries all notifications, the admit card link and later the result and counselling schedule. Candidates should rely on the council’s announcements for seat allocation, counselling dates and other admission details.
Short, factual updates like admit-card links and result dates will appear on the official portal. For now, the immediate actions for candidates are: note the new exam window June 2–9 , download the admit card on May 25 , and prepare for a 100-MCQ CBT with +4/-1 marking.
