NTA is expected to activate the NEET 2026 fee refund portal on neet.nta.nic.in on May 21 for candidates who successfully registered for the cancelled May 3, 2026 exam. The refund covers only the base exam fee; processing charges and GST paid at registration are not expected to be refunded.

NEET 2026 fee refund: amounts and who gets it

Official category-wise refunds are: General (UR) – Rs. 1700 , OBC-NCL / EWS – Rs. 1600 , SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender – Rs. 1000 , and NRI – Rs. 9500 . NRI candidates receive the highest refund because they paid a larger original fee.

All candidates who completed successful registration for the cancelled May 3 exam are eligible, including those who plan to appear for the Re-NEET on June 21, 2026 . Candidates with incomplete or failed transactions are not eligible. Any candidate proven involved in the paper leak may forfeit the fee and lose refund eligibility.

NEET 2026 fee refund: how to submit bank details and claim

You will need to log in to the official refund module on neet.nta.nic.in using your application credentials. NTA asks candidates to submit bank details—Account Number, IFSC and Account Holder Name—through the portal; save the acknowledgement number after submission.

Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method where possible (debit/credit card, UPI, net banking). If the original payment mode is inactive, providing correct bank account details in the refund form is necessary to receive money.

    Timeline, processing and warnings

NTA expects refunds to be credited to bank accounts within 7–15 working days after you submit details. The portal will process base fees only; processing charges and GST are not expected to be returned.

NTA has issued clear warnings about fraud: use only neet.nta.nic.in for refunds. Do not submit bank details on unofficial links or third‑party sites—fake portals and misleading Telegram channels are active and can lead to financial fraud.

About the re-exam: NTA has scheduled the Re-NEET for June 21, 2026 , for roughly 22.79 lakh registered students; original fees for those appearing at the re-test will be carried forward, while refunds will be processed in parallel.

For any procedural clarifications, check the official announcements and PDFs published by the exam authority on the NEET portal and follow instructions there exactly to avoid delays or failed credits.
