TNGASA UG Admissions 2026: Apply at tngasa.in by May 29 for 1,26,959 seats in 181 government arts and science colleges

The Directorate of Collegiate Education, Tamil Nadu opened TNGASA UG Admissions 2026 at tngasa.in with the application window closing on May 29. About 1,26,959 seats across 181 colleges and 159 programmes are on offer.

    The Directorate of Collegiate Education, Tamil Nadu opened TNGASA UG Admissions 2026 registrations at tngasa.in, with the application window closing on May 29, 2026 for the academic session 2026-27 .

    TNGASA UG Admissions 2026: Seats, colleges and programmes

    Around 181 government arts and science colleges are participating and will offer 159 undergraduate programmes this year. The total seat matrix stands at 1,26,959 seats for the session, split into Shift 1: 1,01,022 seats and Shift 2: 25,937 seats .

    According to the directorate, the portal has received 89,927 applications so far. Eligible candidates must apply online at tngasa.in before the deadline.

    TNGASA UG Admissions 2026: Fees, AFCs and helpdesk

    The application fee is Rs. 48 per student, with an additional registration fee of Rs. 2 . SC and ST candidates are exempted from the application fee. Payments can be made through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI on the official site.

    Students who cannot complete the online form themselves may use the Admission Facilitation Centres (AFCs) set up in all Government Arts and Science Colleges to submit applications.

    For queries, the directorate has a helpdesk available Monday to Friday between 10 am and 5 pm at 044-24343106 or 044-24342911 . The official website tngasa.in carries the application link and related instructions.

    The directorate has released the schedule and application window but has not published college-wise or course-wise seat breakup, reservation percentages, counselling dates, or merit list timelines. Applicants should check the official portal for any further announcements before the deadline.
