Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has flagged a timeline change: the NEET UG 2026 re-exam scheduled for June 21, 2026 will delay counselling and admissions for engineering and pharmacy courses in Maharashtra.
The CET Cell had planned to complete admissions by the end of June , but the re‑NEET date will push that schedule back. Patil noted that engineering admissions often wait on NEET outcomes because many students move to engineering if their NEET scores are lower.
Admissions to certain seats are directly affected: 15% of pharmacy seats fall under the All-India quota and rely on NEET scores, while some engineering branches also depend on NEET outcomes.
What students should do now
Watch cetcell.mahacet.org for the result announcement and revised counselling dates. Keep ID documents, class 12 marksheet and CET credentials ready for when the result and counselling schedules are published.
